Locate A Close North Las Vegas Dental Office
If you live in one of the four main cities within the immense Las Vegas Valley - Boulder City, Henderson, North Las Vegas and Las Vegas itself - there are undoubtedly several dental practices near where you work or live.
*** Hidden Dental Practices ***
Some dental offices you might be aware of, but most you probably aren’t.
That’s because even though there is such a large number of dentist’s offices in the valley, their offices may be off the main drag or blended-into modern look-alike strip-mall architecture.
*** The Phone Book ***
Of course, you can always use the phone book.
But the greater Las Vegas Metropolitan area yellow pages contains a whopping 66 pages of dentist listings.
So, good luck using the phone book to find a local dentist.
In a way it’s a shame, but the internet is quickly making the phonebook obsolete.
And also, only the dentists who can afford to cough up large sums of money (thousands a year) get the large, full or half-page color yellow page ads that get a greater response rate.
The standard listings are all but worthless.
Please remember that the ad has zero correlation to the quality of care provided.
Don’t be led astray…
*** The Big Valley ***
Another thing to take into consideration is that the Las Vegas Valley encompasses a lot of territory.
In fact, it’s about 600 square miles and has around 65 zip codes.
And while people tend to “shop” for their dental provider with as much diligence as they do their church, convenience must not be overlooked.
Meaning, that people will ordinarily endure some inconvenience to get what they truly desire.
*** Driving And Stress ***
However, most people would prefer not to traverse the entire valley for a dental appointment (or church, for that matter), if they don’t have to.
Considering that most people don’t like going to the dentist in the first place, having a long, hot and stressful drive before a dental appointment is similar to rubbing salt into a wound.
Alright, it’s clear that the average person doesn’t want to take on an extended journey to get to a dental appointment.
So, once more, how do you find a local dentist?
*** Use The Internet ***
With the exception of a personal referral from family or friend, your best research tool is the internet.
So, once again, we’re talking four cities in a 600 square mile area with 65 zip codes and in excess of 1,200 dentists.
Where to begin?
Open your favorite search engine’s home page. Ours is Google.
*** Use The Right Search Terms ***
Type something like this into the search box: local dentist, or locate Henderson Pediatric Dentist.
If you are in need of a specialist, you can use terms like these: Boulder City Periodontist or Las Vegas braces dentist.
The major search engines are so advanced these days that they can tell where you are searching from and present only relevant local listings.
You can test it by just typing something like: locate a general dentist, local children’s dentist or even just the root term itself, like: periodontist or crown and bridge dentist.
You can also enter a general term like dentist and your zip code into most search engines to get focused, local listings.
From there, you can also use the maps function to see exactly where a specific listing is in proximity to your home or work.
One of the great benefits of this feaure is the ability to view and print-out both a map and turn-by-turn driving directions.
So, input search terms such as these to really get specific: Oral Surgeon 89118 , general dentist 89121 or you might even try something like: teeth whitening 89032.
You don’t have to use words like “a” or “an”, because the search engines automatically overlook those words anyway.
The majority of searchers input complete sentences. But actually, Google (and other search engines) perform better without the use of adverbs.
*** The Search Listings ***
You should be aware of something before you go searching online for a dentist.
The web is full of poor quality sites, including the majority of dental sites.
In fact, many of the sites you may come across are really nothing more than advertising sites where only a few local dentists have a listing within the site’s directory.
The reason for this is because only the dentists who have paid the directory owner for a listing will be found there.
Obviously, this excludes most of the clinics in the valley - including ones near you.
Things are getting better online, however, as the search engines refine their listings and a growing number of dentists have their own sites.
Unfortunately, the average dentist can only be found several pages deep in search engine listings for common terms like those given earlier.
*** It’s All About Marketing ***
So, despite their marketing efforts, they are all but invisible online.
Clearly, becoming a dentist doesn’t also include an education in business and marketing.
Thus, the common challenge of finding a good local dentist.
In the end, it’s only those dental practices who effectively place and market themselves within the community who are the most successful.
And because of the increase in customers these clinics receive, they also receive more personal referrals from those customers.
*** Persistence Pays ***
With a little effort, you too can surely locate a nearby dentist who meets your qualifications and offers what you need and want.
We hope the information presented will be of value to you.
